This game is called “Race
and Build!” It’s a very simple and repetitive game, but my kiddos always loved
this game. Our transportation week was during the time when we had just started
our numbers. This game works on recognition of numbers 3 to 5, but you could easily
practice with larger numbers.
How to play:
Each kid needs a race
and build mat and one race car set. They will share the cards because it is a
partner game! Students take turns picking a card and reading the number. If
they can correctly identify the number they may move their car up on the
corresponding column. If they get a flat tire, they move back one space. Whenever their car makes it to the top of
their grid they add a piece to their race car and that car starts over at the
bottom again. The race cars are a sticker sheet. All they have to do is peel
and stick the decals onto their cars!
Here are the race
car sticker sheets that I bought.
Here is a
copy of the game if you are interested. I included a blank version if you
want to program the game for a different set of numbers. Please remember to
comment/rate my project if you download.
